Thomas was the second successive newcomer to win the Rim Stinger at the first attempt (and that also followed an early bar departure - was this the first indication of the creeping onset of professionalism into the Rim Stinger?) Even at the height of the handicap purges, no one has seen their handicap halved before but that is what happened to Thomas for the money challenge the next day, along with copious vodkas. His progress was just about halted as a result. The truth of it is that Thomas does possess the most complete game in the Rim Stinger group, and when he put on the jacket, it actually nearly fitted, having dwarfed its four previous occupants. Worrying signs.  Fortunately for the rest of the group, Thomas's appearances have been somewhat sporadic ever since.

 Wagenhofer, flaunting the Rim Stinger blazer, receiving yet another award from the OCC.  Note the resigned expressions all round.
