Rim Stinger V, 2008 - Celtic Manor, South Wales

13 players gathered in 2008 for the Rim Stinger's second trip to Wales. Paul Henderson continued to chair the Handicap Committee with an iron fist and kangaroo court judgements. For the second year running the tournament was won by a first timer in Thomas Wagenhofer. Despite the aggressive handicapping of past players, again, no one could really have complaints as Thomas romped home by six points, the biggest win to date, and one that earned him six shots from the Rim Stinger trophy. That punishment was just enough (along with a further spiteful handicap reduction) to at least prevent Thomas walking away with the money challenge on the final day as well.

A new single round record of lost balls was established this year by the OCC with a net 18 (eighteen) losses on day 2 (his record of 17 lost the day before lasted less than 24 hours). That's pretty hard to beat, but was not enough to earn the bag o'shite award, which was comfortably won by Eddie Grant with a mighty four points.
