Back up to a more solid group of nine, all motivated to get the blazer off Richie who had worn nothing else all year, and welcoming back some Rim Stinger founders as well as new players, the Rim Stinger headed over the border for the first time and found itself in Wales. The name of the tournament was briefly extended to The Rim Stinger Invitational Classic International Masters Cup.

In a hard-fought year, noteworthy for some exceptional hangovers, David Zarmalwal emerged victorious. For much of the back nine, it appeared that Jose was going to regain the trophy, until he himself realised that fact when he made the mistake of answering a call on the 18th tee. He now knew that he needed a four on the final par 3 hole to win. Teeing off with a bank of 'supporters' around the green, he plonked his first in a stream. Next came his Jean van de Velde moment as, goaded by the crowd, he took off shoes and socks in an attempt to play it, only managing to knock it into a bush and eventually carding a six and losing out. He has not come so near again and appears permanently scarred by the experience.
